Our first day a Saturday we rented a pontoon boat and took the kids tubing it was a blast. We created such wonderful memories there. We were a big group of 12 and even had six cousins come and visit for the day but there was plenty of room in the big house we reserved. We had the best time at Grandview lodge last June it was the last time we would get together with the 91 year old grandparents before grandpa passed. It was very frustrating to see on this site that others has this same sewer gas issue in the same building over a year ago so clearly this is a known issue and has not been fixed.… It smelled awful the entire time and we were not satisfied with them taking only $50 off a night of a $400+ room to compensate for losing an entire room, bathroom and beds for 4 people.
GRANDVIEW LODGE MN WINDOWS
Maintenance was out a few times and were unable to fix the issue, so our entire family shared one bedroom and we closed off the smelly room and bathroom, blocked the bottom of the door with towels, opened the windows and just did our best to enjoy the trip, as they had no other 2BR+ rooms to offer us on the main property. Our excitement quickly turned to disgust when the smell of sewer gas filled our unit and rendered a bedroom unusable due to the horrible smell. This stay we were on main property in a 2BR/2BA with a fantastic lake view. We have been going one or two times a year for nearly a decade and love all the family activities and time in nature with minimal need to use the car (if on main property). Grand View Lodge is one of our favorite spots. We're also happy you enjoyed our modern and spacious fitness center as well! Thank you again for all of your valuable feedback, and we can't wait to see you back here again soon! The golf cart rentals have been very popular with other guests this summer, making it very convenient to travel around the resort, so we're happy you enjoyed them! We also keep our equipment such as bikes, kayaks, paddle boards, and life jackets in great shape and are thrilled you used them! The Fairway Pines area at the Pines golf course has great places to hang out and is very popular with families such as yours. Our spa is very popular with our guests, and we've shared your feedback with our team at the spa to make sure they do not run out of robes and to help promote a more relaxing environment. We understand that not having housekeeping can be challenging for stays that are longer in duration and hope to return to having more housekeeping service soon. The water is in the process of being treated to eliminate any mineral odors, and we've also shared your feedback regarding the spices with our rooms department. Hi Michelle, Thank you for staying with us, and we're very appreciative of your valuable input. I was really worried about being so far from the main lodge but it wasn’t much of an issue for us.… Nice Firepit set up & the front desk will deliver packages of logs w fire starter. has its own pool & mini golf course in the green space facing the front of the houses. The ‘neighborhood’ over at The Pines is great. We really enjoyed Roy lake (which is just round the corner), we used the dock there for fishing (best dock for fishing for kids!!!) & my kids preferred this beach over the main one. They are just there available for you to use. You have to cross the highway but it was manageable. I used the bike every morning to go to the fitness center. Made travel anywhere on property fun & easy. Wish restaurants other than the ‘bar food’ places allowed carry out.

Not sure if it’s always like this, just my experience. Not relaxing & locker room was crowded to the point you just wanted to get out of there. I went Thursday am & they were out of 2/3 robe sizes by 10. You have to cross a fairly busy highway to get to the main lodge/restaurants/spa/main beach front.

No one comes to clean so you have to tidy the place while you are there (reasonable imo) but more challenging when you stay for longer periods. The house only had salt & pepper (I understand why) but love when people leave extra spices etc behind to be used by others if they choose. The cons When you turn the water on sometimes you smell sewer gas. Hotels near Appaloosa Ridge & Lakebound Clothing.
